- Dr. Phong Bui Associate Dentist
Dr. Bui graduated from Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland OR in 2000. His mission is to provide the best dental care with patient’s comfort in mind. Dr. Bui has many years of Dental experience, and has recently joined Tumwater Family Dentistry as Dr. Downing’s associate.
Dr. Bui has attended numerous continuing education courses over the years. Some of those being Implant EZ with Ankylos, Endodontic Study Club at Oregon Health Sciences University, Orthodontic for General Practitioner at Washington Academy of General Dentistry, and IV Conscious Sedation at Oregon Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Bui is proud to provide a wide range of dentistry to the community of Chehalis and the neighboring cities.
- Staci Dental Hygienist
Staci graduated from Yakima Valley Community College with a Degree of Associate of Dental Hygiene in 1991. She enjoys keeping current with continuing education and working with patients to achieve optimum dental health.
In her free time, Staci enjoys gardening, traveling, and walks with her Standard Poodle.
- Amber Dental Hygienist
Amber graduated from Pierce College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene. She is dedicated to providing a comfortable and friendly dental experience. She also attends frequent continuing educations courses to stay on the cutting edge of dentistry.
In her free time, Amber enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and two Great Danes.
- Debbie Dental Assistant
Debbie has been working as a Dental Assistant since 1989. She enjoys working with people and strives to make her patients relaxed and comfortable.
Debbie is married with three children and loves to spend her free time outdoors.
- Cara Dental Assistant
Cara graduated with an ATA in Dental Assisting from South Puget Sound Community College in 2004. She strives to provide patients with gentle care while keeping current on techniques with continuing educations.
Cara enjoys spending time with her family, along with riding horses and sewing.
- Reanna Office Manager
Reanna has worked in the dental field since 2007. She was a lead Dental Assistant for 7 years in Shelton, WA before moving to the Chehalis area.
Reanna has a husband and two boys. Her family enjoys spending time in the outdoors, including camping and hunting.
- Kelsey Insurance Coordinator
Kelsey is new to the Washington area where she moved from Illinois with over four years of experience with dental insurance. She greatly appreciates the attentive care that our doctors and team strive to provide to all of our patients.
In her free time, Kelsey loves exploring the area with her shih-tzu, animated movies, and watching her favorite baseball team, the Chicago Cubs!
- Jenni SCHEDULING COORDINATOR
Jenni has been a part of the Dental field since 2014 and has experience throughout the office. She enjoys the interaction with the patients and strives to make everyone welcomed.
Jenni is married and has 2 sons. Her family enjoys spending their weekends at the race track sheering on their oldest son. When they aren’t there, you can find them at home spending quality time together.
Extensive Post-Graduate Training
The dental industry is ever-changing. There are new technologies, procedures, equipment and information being introduced on a daily basis. That is why it is so important that your dentist or hygienist doesn’t stop learning once he or she graduates from college. It is important that they continue their training and education as long as they are practicing dentistry.
Tumwater Family Dentistry is fully committed to providing the Thurston County community with high quality dental care. The only way to do this is to go through extensive post graduate training, which is exactly what our dentist, hygienists, and assistants have done.
Recently, Dr. Downing has continued his extensive post graduate training by attending various lectures at The Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida, Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Cerec Doctors Mentor at the Scottsdale Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Dr. Downing takes what he learns at these post graduate training sessions and incorporates it into his dental practice at Tumwater Family Dentistry. Some of the most recent things he has incorporated into his practice include the use of Molar Media Mount iPad on-chair displays in the exam rooms, laser cavity detection, and switching to high tech digital x-ray technology.
Even the tools that are used in our dental practice are influenced by what is learned at these training sessions. Our patients will notice that we use digital impressions instead of the traditional trays and goop, as well as using high-tech tools like KaVo Electronic Handpieces.
Our doctor isn’t the only one to receive extensive post graduate training. All of our dental hygienists and assistants are encouraged to attend various post graduate training courses so they stay up to date on the latest advances that happen within the dental industry.
